Halloween

Halloween was busy for us. Since the squirrels kept eating the pumpkins at our house Mommy had been waiting to carve a pumpkin at home, then with Sandy coming we never got to. So Grandma went out and got one for us to carve. Mommy, Taryn and Jake took care of getting everything out of the pumpkin, Daddy and Jarrett carved the face Taryn had picked and Grandma and Taryn cooked the seeds.

Then it was time to get ready to go out trick-or-treating. Trick-or-treating was cancelled in our town so it was a good thing we were at Grandma and Grandpa's. The kids got dressed up again. Taryn and Jarrett were the same as for Daddy's work event, but Jake chose to be Peter Pan this time (like Jake was from Jake and the Neverland Pirates).

First stop was Uncle Brian's house.

Then they met up wit Addison, Nathan, Logan, Annie and Lea to tick-or-treat in the neighborhood Mommy did growing up. Jake wanted to stop after a handful of houses so Daddy took him and Jarrett home and then slowly the group dwindled until it was just Taryn and Mommy walking around. And Taryn was a trooper. She was out from 6-8:30 and loved every second of it. They even made a second trip to Uncle Brian's.

Hurricane Sandy

Monday everyone ended up having the day off because hurricane Sandy, which would later turn into a super-storm (multiple storms meeting up), was reported to hit. It was a pretty quiet morning. Mommy watched Lonnie Quinn with is rolled up sleeves and channel 12 all day in anticipation. The rain started a little at first and then it got windy in the afternoon, but by dinner time the wind has really picked up! Around 7 we lost power, which we would not get back for 10 days :(. The winds at night were very scarey. It sounded like a train going by the house, and you could hear and see the gutters, siding and roof shingles being ripped off of neighboring houses. We were very lucky to come away without any real damage to our house or property that we know of... I'm sure somewhere in the acre of woods there are some serious trees down, but we will never know for sure.

Everyone slept in Mommy and Daddy's room. Taryn and Jake bunked together even though they each had their own mattresses on the floor.

At first glance out the back in the morning it didn't seem too bad the neighbors had a few trees down and the kids playhouse got blown over.

Then once they got in the car to go try to find some warm food and warmth in general they saw that just in our neighborhood almost all the houses had some sort of damage... and there were soooo many trees down everywhere! They figured it would definately be a few days before power was restored and they didn't know anyone with power in NY still so they decided a trip to Massachusetts for a few days was best. School and work ended up being cancelled for the whole week so it worked out well. These are just a few pictures Mommy snuck on their escape to Massachusetts in our neighborhood.

On the way there we saw a double rainbow.. only one is clear in this picture though.

Happy 1st Birthday Kadence!

Saturday Mommy took the kids to Kadence's 1st birthday party. As always the kids had fun playing with their friends and Jake was glad he got to see Barry again... it had been a while.

Kurt Gallagher!

Thursday afternoon Mommy took the kids to the library for Kurt Gallagher. They were all so excited and its fun that they all have friends that are there. Jake was with Max and Taryn was very excited to see Isabella was there. Jarrett kept wanting to sit with Taryn and be held by her, it was pretty cute.

Jake got up to sing again. He doesn't know Old McDonald that well but he did great anyway. Mommy unfortunately didn't get to see it because (you can see in the first video) Jarrett got excited when Jake went up and went to help him, but Kurt moved the microphone so that Jarrett wouldn't pull it down and Jarrett got very offended and wouldn't stop crying. So Mommy had to take him out of the room, but Finn's mom recorded Jake so that she didn't miss it!

Jarrett Update

Thursday Mommy took Jarrett back to see his pediatric GI specialist. He is still not sleeping through the night even a little bit, with sleep training, and is very cranky during the day. His doctor thinks he could have any or all of these 3 things...1) still a lingering milk allergy 2) silent-acid reflux still or 3) behavioral issues in which he is basically just a stubborn pain in the butt :). But the only way to get to the bottom of it all is to do a endoscopy at the hospital. So the poor little guy is going to have to be sedated or as mommy says "knocked out". Both boys did their height and weight there... Jarrett was 22 lbs and 31 inches tall. Jake was 38 1/2 inches tall and 35 lbs.

Blue Sky Trick-or-Treating!

Wednesday afternoon Blue Sky had their annual kids trick-or-treating event. Mommy's pictures are all horrible from this, but she claims its hard to get good pictures with all 3 kids ;). Taryn was Rapunzel, Jake was Spiderman, and Jarrett was Batman.
