Yesterday was the Yorktown Easter Egg Hunt. Last year Taryn and her friend Isabella had a great time so we decided to go again this year. Like last year... it was cold. But everyone had a great time.
Jake and his new friend Connor who had the same hat :)The Paquette Family came too. Here is everyone waiting to get their eggs.
The hunt is on!
Taryn saw her friend Ana from library class. She is the one in the purple. And Jake's friend Stella (Ana's sister... Jake is friends with her from his library class) is on her Dad's back.
Jake watching the fun.
Despite how it looks in this picture they really did have a good time :)
Pictures with Emma and Landon once they had finished collecting their eggs.
Mommy saw on our friend Reagan's blog that she had made GOOP for Aubrey to play with... on Friday it was cool and rainy so Mommy thought it was a great day to try it out. And Taryn LOVED it. It kept her busy for almost an hour... but it was quite the mess for Mommy to clean up before and after.
This is what happened while Mommy was making the goop. She made the mistake of putting the water in first and then adding ALL the cornstarch at once...which made a sort of cement on the bottom and Mommy and the kitchen ended up covered in cornstarch.
Once Taryn was done playing a bath was in order...which she also thought was cool :) Thanks for the great idea Reagan!
Jake had started eating baby food at 4 months old... but a few weeks into eating he had a little reaction to the rice cereal and threw up twice from it. After that he refused to eat anything... baby food, food Mommy made and mashed up for him... he was being very stubborn. But Tuesday night, while Mommy was at the gym, Jake decided to eat for Daddy! He seems to be ok with the Beechnut oatmeal and apples right now. Way to go Jake! And thanks Daddy for taking pictures so Mom could see the proof!
I think he is going to be very happy now that he is eating more!
It certainly felt like Spring the last week. It was great going for walks at the park, playing out side and having friends over. Here is Taryn with some of her friends eating a snack on the deck.

Taryn learning to play hopscotch
And practicing on her tricycle. She is getting much better at pedaling by herself, but still has trouble steering.
Taryn loves to go to the grocery store with Mommy now that she is big enough to push around her own little cart. Mommy likes it too for the most part because she can put Jake in his snap and go and use Taryn's cart for the groceries. What a helpful little girly!
St. Patrick's Day this year was great... it was sunny, in the 60's and we were lucky enought to get to spend the whole day with Daddy because his work still had no power. The day started out with Taryn waking up and seeing that Mommy had put up some green St. Patrick's Day garland to decorate... she looks at it and says, "Is it Christmas? Where my presents?" What a silly girl.... Later in the day Daddy was excited because he got to take Taryn to her "Mother Goose Time" class at the library and then we all went for a family walk at FDR park... but not before some pics of the kids on Jake's first St. Patrick's Day!
It was quite hard for Mommy and Daddy to get good pictures of everyone together.
We finished the night with a family night filled with corned beef & cabbage, green m&m's and mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwiches that Mommy made. It was a good day!
Yesterday we were surprised to find out in the morning that Daddy's work had no power and he wouldn't have to go in until noontime. Daddy was excited because he would get to help bring Taryn to dance class and take Jake in the water for his swim lesson.
While Daddy was in the water Mommy read a text message on his phone that said work was cancelled for the whole day... so that afternoon after lunch at Club Fit, we met up with our friends the Paquette, Thurmeier, and Downs families at the Bronx Zoo. The kids had a great time in the great weather!Taryn and Eric loving the fish
What great Daddy time!
Jake and Eric looking like twins A bigger surprise was finding out that Daddy had the next day off too!!!
