Happy 1/2 Birthday Jakester!
Today was Jake's 1/2 birthday... the last 6 months have gone by very quickly and none of us can believe how big he has gotten already. He is getting very good at sitting up, loves to play with toys and puts everything in his mouth, is definately in the beginning stages of teething and constantly drooling, he has found his voice and loves to yell whether he is happy, sad, excited or frustrated, he loves to watch and play with both Taryn and myself, and he still hates eating baby food. He certainly has a way of brightening any room he is in with his cute little grin and we all love him very much! Happy 1/2 birthday Jake!
Here is how he spent his 1/2 birthday.
It was a beautiful outside and we had a great day. The morning started with Taryn making cupcakes with Mommy for him. Then it was off to Taryn's library class and then lunch with Daddy.
Jake's 6 Month Check-Up
Monday Jake had his 6 month check-up. He was all smiles for the doctor and nurses and even though he had to get two shots and drink a yucky drink he barely cried.
Here are his newest stats... height: 25 1/2 inches- 20th percentile, weight: 17 pounds 4 1/2 ounces- 50th percentile, head measurement: 43 cm

Snowflake Dance
On Sunday afternoon the whole family went to a Snowflake Dance at Taryn's School. Since it was Taryn's first school dance they didn't know what to expect. It was a lot of fun though. Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Angela, Uncle Tom, EJ, Uncle Jim and Adam came to see the fun... and Mommy thought it would be a good idea to invite Emma, Landon, Pete, And Emily, since Emma and Landon might be interested in going to school there. Everyone had a lot of fun. There was a DJ, food, raffles, great decorations and even some toys given out to the kids.
But he didn't miss much since they had to get there early for Mommy to help set stuff up. Taryn loved dancing around by herself on the dance floor.

By the end of teh dance the kids were all very tired... Emma won a basket in the raffle though right before we left, so it made her pretty happy :)

Lucas's 2nd Birthday Party
On Sunday morning Taryn went to her friend Lucas's 2nd birthday party. It was at My Gym in Yorktown, where Taryn used to go all the time and where she met Lucas. They now go to school together. She had so much fun seeing friends she had not seen in a while and celebrating with Lucas. Lucas is sitting behind her on the "train"

Taryn Time
Everyday Taryn seems to get more grown up. She is usually a great big sister to Jake (minus not wanting him to have any toys that look like hers :) She loves to hold him and try to take care of him.
Sometimes she is not as gentle as we would like though :) I guess it will toughen Jake up.
Taryn also is talking sooooo much better. She almost always uses complete sentences now and wants to try to do everything herself. Here she is trying to put on her sweatshirt by herself... she almost got it... to bad it was upside down. Nice try Taryn!

Library Classes
This week both kids started their spiring session of library classes.
Taryn is in Mother Goose Time again and as always LOVES it! Here she is yesterday waiting for class to start. She was so excited that even though we got there 15 minutes early she went in the room with her name tag and sat waiting for class to start, singing songs to herself. Jake and Mommy went with her and Jake enjoyed it almost as much as she did!
Jake had his first library class today, Baby Rhymes, and he surprised Mommy a lot. When Taryn took the class she loved every second of it and paid attention to the teacher so much it was almost unreal. Mommy expected Jake to really like the program, but not act exactly like Taryn!!! But he did. He paid attention to everything the teacher said and did & at story time he looked at the book the entire time. He had the exact same giant smile on his face that Taryn always did during her classes. Mommy keeps thinking they will be very different, but when it comes to classes both kids love that kind of social setting! Great first class Jake!
Here is Jake on the way to class wearing his new hat from his friend Eric! Thanks Eric!! Jake loves his new hat!

Bye Tommy!
On Sunday afternoon Tommy had to fly back to his Navy base. Right now he is stationed in Naples, Italy but soon may be going to Jabuti, Africa. It was really nice having Tommy home for a couple weeks and we were all really glad we got to spend some time with him... we don't think we will get to see him for another 15 months! :( I had to stay home because the trip was shortened because of the big storm... but here are some pictures from the night before he had to leave.
Jake went all out for Tommy and wore his Bruins gear!
Uncle Brian, EJ and Daddy all trying to figure out where Jabuti is :)
Cousins Steven, Lucas, and Joseph came to say good bye too.
On Sunday once Tommy was at the airport they watched the USA vs Canada hockey game and then got ready to head home... but not before Taryn helped Uncle Dan with his Law School stuff.
And Jake did some hanging out with Grandpa.
It was good to see you Tommy!!!! Can't wait for next May when we get to see you again!

Another Snow Day!
So today Daddy got to stay home from work again because we got A LOT of snow. The news claims we got like 17+ inches, but it is so hard to tell.
Taryn : "What is it Jake? Are you not quite comfortable enough?"
Taryn: "Is this better?"
Taryn : "Oh what Jake? You want me to Jump on you?"Do you guys see this snow?!?!!!
"Yes!!! I have seriously been waiting for this all winter!"
Here is Taryn helping Daddy shovel again! She has been getting in some good practice this year... It is a good thing they bought that kids snow shovel at Bed Bath and Beyond!
And me playing in the SNOW!!!!!!!!!
After they were done shoveling Daddy and Taryn did some sledding down the giant snowbanks.
And then played in Taryn's playhouse.
