Hospital Visits

Everyone was very excited to meet little Jarrett... especially the grandparents and the kids! Grandma and Grandpa brought Taryn and Jake to see Jarrett... they were a little hesitant at first, but t hey certainly warmed up to him quickly.

He also got visits from both his godparents, Jenna and TJ, his Aunt Angela and Uncle Jim, and Daddy's friends from work (Matt, Gwynne, Scott, Paul, Jen, and Pete).

And some return visits of course the next day!

Welcome Jarrett Russell... Finally!

Monday morning the baby still had not decided to come... so Mommy and Daddy woke up at 5:30 AM and headed to the hospital. As you can see in the picture it was a very different experience for Mommy to be induced and she was a little nervous. :)

They got admitted at 7:00 they broke Mommy's water at 7:30, started Petosin at 8:30, gave Mommy an epidural at about 10:00, at about 11:15 Mommy thought it might be nearing "pushing time," at 11:43 (according to Daddy) Mommy started pushing... pushed strait for 4 minutes without stopping to even take a breath... and then after a little coaxing out of the baby's shoulders... It was a BOY!!!!

Jarrett Russell Bruno was born at 11:47 AM.
He weighed 7 lbs 15oz and was 20 inches long.
He was perfect!

Welcome to the family little man!!! We love you!

Still No Baby!

So the baby did not think it was ready to come out and meet us yet... so tomorrow Mommy and Daddy have to go to the hospital before 7am to be induced. So we should have a baby brother or sister by tomorrow night. In the mean time Daddy had to go back to work all week and Mommy and the kids have done lots of hanging out (well and Mommy had to go to the doctors a lot so Uncle Jim did a lot of hanging out too!) We tried to make it as normal a week as possible though with school, My Gym, and playdates. There was also plenty of time for fooling around! And wait until you see what Taryn and Jake realized they could do on the tricycle!

Baby Watch 2011

Day 1- Tuesday May 10th
Mommy goes to watch her softball team play and comes home to start having contractions at 10:15 at night.

Day 2- Wednesday, May 11th
Mommy has contractions all day, Daddy goes to work to finish up everything he needs to to take time off, Mommy goes to doctors contractions are regular but only 1 cm, at 5:00 Mommy calls Daddy to tell him maybe he should think about coming home from work, 6:00 doctor says to go to hospital because contractions are 5 minutes apart, Mama, Papa and Uncle Jim watch kids, Mommy and Daddy get to hospital at 6:45.... still not dilated but contractions are 2-3 minutes apart. They have them walk around for 2 hours... still no dilating... they go home. Grandma and Grandpa drive from Massachusetts just in case and get there at 2:30 AM... Mommy is nauseous all night and throwing up with contractions. Not fun for her!

Daddy on way to hospital eating Pizza and Mommy arriving at the hospital!
Day 3- Thursday, May 12th
Grandma and Grandpa take Taryn to school, Mommy and Daddy go to CVS at 9AM when it opens to get medicine for throwing up and nausea, then head to doctors again to get checked... SURPRISE... Mommy is 3am dilated and baby is VERY LOW. Doctors say they will most likely head to hospital around 2pm. :) 9PM that night... contractions stop and baby seems pretty content. Grandma and Grandpa have to go home.

Day 4- Friday, May 13th
HMMMMM still no baby :) no more contractions, but Mommy still has to go visit the doctor AGAIN just so they can check her. Still pretty much the same and Dr. McGroary is very surprised the baby did not come yesterday like everyone else. Mommy and Daddy were given the option to induce, but since the baby is doing just fine and Mommy is no longer sick they decide to give the baby more time to come out on it's own! So they come home, daddy gets a haircut and the kids are glad to have the rest of the day to play with him. Later that night they go to a hibachi restaurant for dinner with the kids.
(Even though it looks like they hate it in the picture it was actually fun :)

Day 5- Saturday, May 14th
Still no baby. Daddy took the kids to My Gym in the morning like normal, Mommy met them there and then the family headed to Muscoot Farm to see the animals and have a picnic lunch. The kids had fun and Mommy started to feel some contractions on and off that afternoon. But nothing happened :)

Day 6- Sunday, May 15th
The Due Date!!!
Still no baby. The family played all morning in side and on the deck in the rain, in the afternoon they took a trip to BJ's then Mommy and Daddy decided that maybe a date night was needed after all this waiting. Mama and Papa watched the kids and Mommy and Daddy went to dinner at Campagna's and then saw Bridesmaids (because Auntie Jen said it was a must before the baby comes :) . The baby is moving around like crazy... so Mommy goes to bed hoping the baby is trying to get something going... not so much :)

The kids playing on the deck in the rain.

Day 7- Monday, May 16th
Daddy had to go back to work since the baby had not yet decided to come join us. Mommy took the kids to My Gym in the morning and then went to her doctor's appointment in the afternoon. They did a non stress test again and the baby is doing just fine... soooo we just have to wait until he/ she decides that its time to come! Mommy will go back to the doctors on Thursday for an ultrasound to see how big the baby is!

But we wrap up week 1 of baby watch with still just two perfect kiddos!
