Finally... Blue Sky Exhibit

Saturday after Isabel's Party Mommy and Taryn met up with Daddy, the boys, Mama, Papa, Aunt Angela and Uncle Jim to actually see the Blue Sky Exhibit at the Katonah Museum. It was the traveling exhibit of what was at the Norman Rockwell Museum last year. The kids enjoyed seeing everything, and I am sure the adults liked it too. Taryn liked that she got to ride around with Aunt Angela (who had foot surgery). And the kids liked getting to so some drawings and crafts in the art room there.

Friday Night Movie Night

Taryn's 5 Year Well Visit

Friday Taryn went for her check-up at the doctors. She was super nervous that she would have to get a shot, which she did end up needing one. But otherwise she did great. She weighs 42 pounds (60th percentile) and was 43 inches tall (75th percentile). Her vision test was iffy. The line she messed up had a d on it and she kept saying b (which she will occasionally confuse) so they switched back to the picture eye chart from last year but she didn't get teacup and then she did but overall they were not sure if it was a sight thing or recognition thing so we will wait and see but as of now she is down for having 20/40 vision.

Taryn has developed so much over the last year. She LOVES school and anything to do with it. She is definitely ready for full day kindergarten next year and is very excited. She is getting very girly lately and loves to do her hair/ make-up. She is very helpful with her brothers and at running errands with Mommy. She loves playing with friends and overall is acting like a little girl now instead of a toddler!

Snow Day

Wednesday morning the kids woke up to a surprise! A snow day! So of course Talia and Taryn wanted to play. they decided on our house and spent all morning in Taryn's room playing Barbies etc. Then it was lunch and movies. Obviously Jarrett got a little bored during lunch...

Then it was time for a little Play Doh... ok about 2 hours worth of Play Doh... then Pop the Pig and some Hungry Hungry Hippos. Around 5 Talia had to head home for dinner and Mommy decided it was a great time to have the kids help her clean up!

For Family Night Mama, Papa and Uncle Jim brought over presents for Taryn's birthday. She loved her La La Loopsy doll, Stompees, Tag book, Leapster game and roller skates. And since Mommy knew she was getting the skates she was well prepared for Jake. Jarrett on the other hand was very angry that he didn't have any.

Then we sang and had some cake that Uncle Jim made and special cookies that Mama made for Taryn. It was a pretty busy snow day.

Jake Starts Karate

Last Thursday Jake had an evaluation to see if he could start Karate at a place by us. He passed with flying colors so he got to do a trial class this Tuesday. He loved it and did great so they gave him his uniform. The program teaches a lot of disciple and good values, so we think it will be great for Jake. Plus he looks awesome in his outfit. Below is the description of his class and the creed he has to memorize.

Jarrett Starts My Gym

Last week Jarrett started My Gym. He likes it, especially when his big brother is there to do it with him!

Well she made it to a whole hand. That's right Taryn is officially 5! She started off her day with presents and breakfast., had Mommy straiten her hair, painted her nails got her treats and goodies ready to bring to her class and played a little with her new Barbie doll house stuff.

At school they gave her her birthday crown and gifts. She loved spending her birthday morning at school!
Then she chose Friendly's for lunch, where they sang happy birthday to her and she got to blow out a candle in her ice cream!

Then it was time for Music and Movement class at the library.

Then Uncle Jim came to spend some time with her while Mommy brought Jake to karate.
