Mommy's favorite college softball team is Arizona. As everyone knows by now Taryn was even named after one of their pitchers. During the Women's College World Series we have to watch A LOT of softball. This year UCLA and Arizona, HUGE rivals, are playing each other in the finals! Taryn always helps Mommy cheer them on in her Arizona gear this year she had to wear Mommy's shirt since she didn't have one of her own. She does look SUPER cute in it... hopefully it brings them good luck.
Here are some pictures of her in the last two WCWS in her Arizona attire. Last year... hard to see
Two years ago. Yes the shirt Mommy is wearing in this picture is the one Taryn has on today.
Yesterday Daddy took Taryn to Muscoot Farm for Big Equipment Day. They met up with eh Paquettes and the Fourniers and the kids all had a blast. Taryn liked pretending to drive the big tractors.
And some of the other more obscure equipment :)
Taryn trying to give Daddy a thumbs up... The second attempt was better :) Hey it is hard for a two-year-old... at least she is trying.
And there was plenty of time for the kids to see the animals and fool around.
Allegedly Jake crawled for the first time last night while Mommy was at the gym... although we all saw it Mommy says she will give the official word when he crawls :) Video and pictures to come when he does it again... or for the first time if you listen to Mommy (wink wink)
Mommy had another 5K today, this one was at FDR Park right by our house. It is the park that I usually take walks in. She started in the very back of the pack, because she said there were a lot of serious runners there due to the fact that it was organized by a runner's club and had a cash prize for winners. Although it was a hot and humid morning, she beat her previous time at the zoo run by 5 minutes! She finished 89th overall, 7th for her age group, running an average of 9 minute 10 seconds a mile giving her a total time of 28 minutes 26 seconds.
While Mommy ran Jake, Taryn and Daddy played at the playground there and rode bikes and scooters in the parking lot. Mommy was very excited to see them at the end of the race.
Later in the afternoon they met Anne, Steve and Isabella at the Junior Lake Pool in town. They had never been to this pool but it was really nice. Taryn and Isabella had lots of fun playing in the kiddie pool area.
Today after Mommy found out one of the town pools was already open she went out right away and got her pool pass. Once they were done the kids got to go to the Sparkle Lake Playground. Jake loves swinging and watching Taryn.
Taryn still is refusing to let us take her picture, but Mommy sneaks a few every once in a while.
Here is a cute video of the kids playing at the playground
The kids were being very silly all day today. Here are a few pictures and videos that confirm it.
Video of Jake being funny at dinner
Taryn is always singing songs, in fact she is singing herself to sleep right now ans I type this. You can get a brief look at her singing before she gets mad that Mommy is recording her. Mommy also keeps asking her what she did at school today because she had told Mommy to ask her and then when Mommy would say, "Taryn what did you do at school today?" she would reply, "Mommy let me finish chewing." Of course she would not do it on the videos!
Today during his afternoon nap Mommy started to wonder why Jake was sleeping so well. She soon found out it was because for the first time he had rolled onto his belly while sleeping and was VERY comfortable. After napping for over 2 hours Mommy tried waking him up and he would lift his head up and then plop it right back down again! Mommy and Daddy still put him to sleep on his back because they are supposed to, but I think he may be a belly sleeper from now on.
Monday morning everyone went to the Memorial Day Parade in Auburn (Except Uncle Brian who was working the Northbridge parade). Taryn was very excited to have Uncle Dan, Mary and Mckenzie come with her... and even more excited when she got to the parade and realized that her friend Annie was there with her sister Lea and her mom Sarah. Jake was excited to see that his friend Addy and her mom Kim came as well. In the beginning the kids were just waiting to see Annie's dad in his police car and they were all very excited when he drove by.
Here are a few shots of the group watching the parade.
Taryn and Annie especially loved the parade this year and were very cute pointing things out to each other. Annie kept saying, "That is the craziest thing I have ever seen." and cracking us all up.
Sarah and LeaAfter the Parade we all went back to the American Legion where Grandma was doing the catering for all the people who marched in the parade. The girls had fun talking to the clowns and even got clown noses and then had fun playing with Jake's stroller.
On Saturday morning Mommy, Daddy, Grandma, Taryn and Jake went to watch Cousin Lucas play baseball. (He is the one on first base) He did really well and got 3 hits while they were watching! Taryn had fun watching him play and playing with her other cousin Joseph.
Later that day they went swimming over at Uncle Steve and Aunt Rose's pool.
Sunday they went to West End Creamery for some ice cream and to see the animals at the farm there. It was messy... I wish I had been there to lick up all that wasted ice cream!
